The annual family walk for Rogation Sunday takes place next Sunday, 5 May. This is a gentle walk around the village, with stops for hymns and short prayers, at a field full of crops, gardens, by the river etc.
Traditionally Rogation Sunday is the day when the church offers prayers for God’s blessing on the harvest and on those who work to produce our food, and a common feature as the ceremony of beating the bounds. The Rogation walk is the modern version of this.
We will meet by the lychgate at St Andrew’s, Kimbolton, at 10.45, and return to the church at the end of the walk.
Everyone is welcome, especially children, but it can be a bit muddy if the weather has been wet so please do wear suitable footwear!
With thanks to Lynda Dack for some of the photos
Evensong will be held at the earlier time of 3pm on 28 October (and throughout the winter months), with tea and cake!
NB 28 October is also the day the clocks go back.
Tuesday 9 October, 7.00 for 7.30pm in the Mandeville Hall, Kimbolton
